The story revolves arounf Easy Company, an elite paratrooper unit, from their training days to the very end of the end of second world war. What's even more amazing is that the series is based on the memoirs of the remaining members of Easy company. Band of brothers received received upstanding critics from both critics and audience. The series won a Golden Globe as well as additional 33 wins and 24 nominations.

Empire of the Sun (1987) - director

This is a classic Steven Spielberg masterpiece from 1987. The movie has it all; great story, great acting, world class director. This is one of those must watch before you die movies. Christian Bale even as a teenage actor give us a preview of what will become of him - one of the greatest live actors today.  

Saving Private Ryan (1998) - director

What to be said more about this movie than that it change film-making forever, at least when it comes to making war movies. Is this the greatest war movies ever made? Hard to tell, but it surely is one of them. No western director has ever come even close to what Spielberg did with this movie - to show the real face of the terror in war while portraying the lives of a small group of soldiers. 

Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) - producer

The battle of Iwo Jima told by the Japanese side. If you have seen flags of our fathers you need to see letters from Iwo Jima as well, that is if you want to see the complete picture. Clint Eastwood gathered some of the best Japanese actors and made an incredible war movie.

One of the best pictures of the year. This is not just a story of a boy and his horse during the world war one. This is a much deeper story that speaks about that era, the people that lived then, their lives and the war that followed.

War Horse (2011)

The Great War described from a different  perspective - through the journey of a horse, from rural England to the battlefields in Europe. Short review, trailer, basic movie info and full movie War Horse online.

Instead of a working animal, a farmer buys a thoroughbred horse.
