The Monuments Men is an ensemble-cast-movie based on the Robert M. Edsel's book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History. 

During World War II, a special task group comprised of art historians and museum curators are assigned to retrieve numerous art works and other culturally important items stolen by the Nazis before Hitler has them destroyed.
