Col. Terry L. Childers (Jackson)  fought alongside attorney Hayes Hodges in Vietnam and once saved his life. An injury ended Hodges' military career, leaving him bitter and resentful. He is reunited with his former brother in arms after Childers is court-martialed for ordering his troops to fire on civilians after a raid on the American embassy in Yemen.
