Sergeant Warden starts an affair with his commanding officer's wife, Karen. Private Prewitt is a loner and a man of few words, opposite of his best friend Maggio, who has caught the eye of sadistic Sergeant Judson. All of them frequently visit the euphemistically named whorehouse The New Congress Club, ran by the "hostess" Alma Lorene. Their lives will be swept away by the Japanese attack on the morning of December 7.
