Terminator Genisys 2015 is the fifth installment of the franchise, portrayed by a mainly new cast supported by Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role. The new story takes places in an altered reality developed by a series of events related to Skynet's doings throughout the timeline.
John Connor, the leader of the resistant sends one of his most trusted officers Kyle Reese back in time to save the life of his mother, and by dong that to ensure his own existence. However, to the surprise of Kyle the timeline has been altered as Skynet had never did it attack in 1997. In that reality Sarah Connor was raised by a terminator that was sent by a party unknown to him.
The overall verdict, from both critics and fans, is that Terminator Genisys 2015 lacks the magic, the cinematic depth and the entire aura that followed other movies of this franchise. On the other hand, fans of the franchise, should still find the time to check it out, if not for anything else than for Arni who literary carries this one on his shoulders.
