It is a story of three soldiers involved in WW2. German officer, Lt. Christian Diestl approves less and less of the war his country started. American entertainer Michael Whiteacre tries to avoid the draft in any way but is still drafted and Noah Ackerman who is Jewish deals with antisemitism both home and in the military.
