A masterpiece is the word that most of the critics used when the movie was premiered. Today, some thirty years later that still stands and the movie has become classic. Even though it`s a different plot there are a lots of similarities with Kubrick`s Paths of Glory (1957). Without further analyzing why is so the fact that this is one of the greatest war movies ever made cannot be ignored or denied.
