The Green Berets (1968)

A squad of American Green Berets led by Colonel Mike Kirby go on a courageous mission to capture an important North Vietnamese general. The team is accompanied by a journalist, George Beckworth, who is skeptical about the purpose of the war, but along the way the Colonel and the other soldiers convince the cynical reporter of the value of the intervention in the Vietnam War. It's worth noting that this movie would be inspiration for two anti-war classics - Platoon (1986) and Full Metal Jacket (1987).
