Private Charlie is in a boot camp training to be a hero. Soon after the boot camp Charlie is deployed in the France war front where he gets his chance to be a hero.

There is much more than just Chaplin`s well-known comedy performance. It is a movie full of life lessons of the soldiers and the absurdity of war.
